FAQ’S

Q: I want to help, but I don’t want to fight fire. What can I do?
A: We encourage community involvement; there are a number of things you can do to help your community without fighting fire. EMS – Receive training in CPR and Basic First Aide and possibly move on to a First Responder or EMT if you want. If you don’t want to answer EMS calls, this training is always handy to have at home, just in case. Administrative Staff – Administration is a vital part in our service and we have always preferred non-firefighting staff to hold these positions. Auxiliary – Help with fund raising events, provide refreshments to firefighters on scene of large calls. Station Hand – Help with grounds and station keeping, washing hose and trucks. Assisting with general maintenance and inspection of firefighting equipment. Concerned citizen – Contributing input from the community level.

Q: When do you meet?
A: Generally we meet every Tuesday at 7:00 p.m.

Q: Can my children help or come with me to meetings?
A: Several of our members have children and we encourage everyone to bring them, they are our future.

Q: I have a teenager at home can they help?
A: Teens age 16 and 17 can participate in training and limited emergencies with parental consent. For more information contact the Fire Chief. Teens under 16 years of age are still welcome but will be very limited to activities and training. This is a drug and alcohol free environment great for teaching your teens to be responsible and give them motivation to be drug and alcohol free.
